The electrics on the K75 are driving me nuts, i broke down in Ilkley the other day managed to limp it home but cannot seem to get to the bottom of the problem.
The bike wont start on the button but it will run if you bump it, the left indicator brings the right one one and the lights wont work, i thought i would re do all the earth points and wired a cable from the earth point on the frame direct to the battery but no joy any suggestions which dont involve dynamite.......

I would say that going right to the earthing points is a good place to start .
From what I remember of the photos you had of the bike when you got it, it looked like a 'corrosion' queen from it's years of inactivity .
When you say the bike won't start with the starter button, does the starter turn and the engine won't fire, or the starter doesn't work at all with the start switch ?

There was a fair bit of corrosion on the rear of the frame but the front end is not too bad, when you press the start button you can hear the fuel pump but the starter motor is "inactive" , with the tank off you can hear the start relay working but with a meter i am getting 12v on both sides of the start relay when the ignition is switched on without pressing the start button ?????.

With a multimeter connected to the battery, is there any voltage drop when the start button is depressed ?

I will try that later, i stripped the starter off the bike and bench tested it....doesnt seem very happy so i will strip it at the weekend but i am still puzzled by the 12v on both sides of the relay when its not in use.

Sounds like the contacts are fused together inside the relay .

Lou. I have been stranded on my K75s several times by the starter relay fusing together. It seems that if the voltage drops by as little as 1.0 to 1.5 volts below normal there is not enough pull in the relay to keep the points separated and they will arc and fuse together. I carry 2 spare starter relays in my parts on that bike and can swap it out in a matter of minutes now.

Every time it has happened to my K bike I ended up with a dead battery. I didn't experience the unusual electronic gremlins that you are having though.

I had something similar on my K75S, a long time ago. Don't recall the exact symptons but had to jump start it a couple of times cause the lecky start button did not play.
The solution was to pull the starter motor, strip it down and give the surface of the coils/wiring? a good clean with white spirit or something similar cause they were pretty dirty. Solved the problem.
