Terry - you asked if I have repaired my damaged head???  I didn't know something was damaged, other than my own brain damage!!

I am planning to go to MOA Rally in MO but probably on K75s if I ride.  If I bring travel trailer, with wife, Tina will ride in back of truck.  Sounds like a great event!

Took me awhile to figure out Terry's comment about repaired head - thought he was talking about me!

I did buy a used head on Ebay and asked Rob Valdez to confirm it would work 'cause the older R65's had smaller valves.  It worked out well, after I took it to the machine shop to clean everything up.

I still have an extra right head with the staked on cylinder in my garage.  I probably don't need it . . .

Yeah, the cylinder head with the screwed up exh threads. That's the one!  :D

It can be repaired, but maybe not worth it; these head can be found so cheaply. I'd be interested in getting it from you.

Your story kind of reminds me of my 90S and its seven or eight year repair. At one point I wondered if it'd be the first 'originally running' bike I'd part out. It'd been sooo long, I'd moved so many times stuff got lost, but eventually it went back together.

Enjoyed both articles in the MOA News Ken! Tina looks so pristine that I think LRB will be put to shame. I am seriously thinking of riding LRB to Sedalia as he has better gas range and no chain to monitor as opposed to the FI Triumph Bonneville. Both are equally "comfortable" but I am always thinking LRB has travelled over 100,000 miles now....BUT he has had lots done to be in good mechanical order. The "BUT" always includes those thoughts of what have I missed?!! :-/

The right attitude is probably to muse " if anything does go wrong mechanically, it will be just an opportunity to make new friends and stay a while longer somewhere". 8-)
