Title: Introduction
Post by: badgertom on May 24, 2012, 10:32:11 AM
Just would like to introduce myself. I Tom and I recently purchased a 1982 R65 which was in tine condition. I love the bike since I do a lot of short trips in the area I live. (Central Wisconsin). Previously I owned a 2008 R1200R but I just could not get into the bike. For long speedy rides the R1200R is great but for short trips around town etc., well it's not for me. Anyway, here I am with the R65....pictures to follow. Tom

Welcome Tom .

Yeah, the oilhead bikes are a different breed than the airhead bikes .

Central Wisconsin, the home of beer, bratwurst and cheese !!!!!

Welcome Tom! We completely understand!

I had a 1999 R11S and it was fine at triple digit cruising, but the R65 is loads more fun. It's hard to explain - the 11S has better suspension, handling, brakes, power, but the 650 is just more fun.

Bob- and here I thought I was going to beat you out for a change!

Fixed your quote:

"Central Wisconsin, the home of deer, bratwurst and cheese !!!!!"

Eh, BadgerTom,   Welcome to our asylum.

There's also an R65 forum 'round here but I've yet to find it. Couple more posts and then we'll be looking for snaps of your "tine condition" R65. Must be a Wisconsin thing.

Brats, Beer n' Deer. Cheese is fattening, eh?

you could say that. Brats and cheese and beer sure puts the weight on. I try to keep away from that stuff as much as possible.

Ship that good stuff on down to Texas for Bengt Phorqs. Not saying that's how he got his screen name, but... [smiley=beer.gif]
