Any good resources online for purchasing a new clutch plate for a r65LS? Thanks.

Not sure where you hail from William, but there are many sources such as:

http://www.ascycles.com/
http://www.benchmarkworks.com/
http://www.bobsbmw.com/index.html
http://maxbmwmotorcycles.com/
http://www.motobins.co.uk/

Bit of advice, stick with BMW OEM clutch parts. Don't be lured by low-ball repop parts for these critical components. Other members may likely provide additional sources for your consideration.

Thanks much. I wondered if there was a good alternative such as EBC or something else or if--as you advise--I need to stick with OEM?

I use the BMW stock clutch parts - some aftermarket parts may have different thicknesses.   The tolerance of the diaphragm spring fingers is based upon a certain thickness range of the friction material on the disk.   Easiest to keep it all stock, and the stock parts will last a long time, unless you're talking about racing on the track.
