Title: here is a nice British classic outfit
Post by: nhmaf on February 27, 2012, 06:44:03 PM
No association with this, etc. etc.  but it still looks like a REALLY nice classic sidecar outfit from across the pond - one could put alot of camping gear into a rig like that, I think.. even if one had to swap out the tug for a BMW airhead

What would one of these sell for back in the UK?

Of course, learning to drive a sidecar outfit could be tough enough over here without ALSO having to deal with the fact that the box is on the wrong side for our motorways...

I remember the old AA and RAC motorcycle/ sidecar combo,s when i was a lad my Dad was in the AA and i still have his old pass key somewhere?, hard to put a value on one but there were alot of them so i would not think the price would be so high.
There was a sidecar for a R60 on eBay not long back with a starting bid of £1k but i dont know what it sold for.

I have only had one sidecar - I bought a new 2000? Ural - I never worried about it getting me there but I was always worried that it might not get me home -

one time I took the hack to myHD dealer & bought a bunch of bling - I tossed all of it into the hack - On the ride back home I had to cross a bridge that was pretty tall - the wind was blowing - all of a sudden all of that purdy chrome was flying out of the hack onto the street! I parked on the other side of the bridge & walked back & recovered everything -

The Ural had less than 1,200 miles on it when the teeth on the starter blew up & took a bunch of teeth on the fly wheel with it - Ural N America were very good in sending me the parts and paying for a shop to fix it. Great old school looker - When I got it back I sold it to a guy in Las Vegas -
