Title: e petition to raise awarness of motorcycles
Post by: Barry on February 09, 2012, 12:37:05 PM
Bennets bike insurance in the UK have raised an e petition requiring car drivers to to answer some mandatory questions about motorcycle awareness and safety as part of the driving test.

Currently a driving test can be passed without the car driver displaying any knowledge of motorcycle awareness and safety.

If any UK members wish to sign up the link is below.

For everyone else an e petition is an online petition which can force an issue to be debated in the UK parliament when 100,000 signatures have been reached. Sort of democracy in action.

Thanks for this info Barry. I've emailed it and the link to the epetition to my favourite magazines here in Oz. I'm sure the guy who runs them will be intersted in the concept. He's a great advocate in the motorcycling world here. If you get the chance have a look at his two mags. Australian Road Rider and Cruiser and Trike. ARR has stuff not only from Oz but stories and tests and wotnot from all over the world. Both mags are top of the lists here in Oz.   :D
