Title: Missing my R65
Post by: dav on January 21, 2012, 09:03:51 PM
Its been 7months since ive pressed the starter button my R65.

Long story short, i moved away from Sydney & bought a house inbetween Wagga Wagga & Albury (closer to Albury), but on my property there's no garage only a double carport. And thats taken up by my car & the R1200R, there is a big shed but again that's taken up by shed stuff plus the Suzuki GT380 (bought it down here, at a garage sale) just fits in there also. The Duke sits inside the house (the lounge room).

So that leaves the R65 without a spot at my new house. I will be putting up a garage/workshop eventually, i thought i would have put one up by now but 'other' things & money & finding a good job (i have a good job now) has to come first.

Dont worry the R65 is in good hands, my father is looking after her, taking her for a run etc..

But my god i miss my R65 :'(

Davin.

A friend of mine is a real ring-ding lover - he loves 2-stroke motorbikes, particularly street bikes.  He tries to find them in relatively OK/complete condition, but strips them down as needed to fix them up.  I've joked with him that he should open up his garage as a museum of some sort.  So far, he has several Yamahas, I think a CS-5, RD350, and RD400, as well as Suzuki GT 185, GT380, GT550, and some others that I've lost track of.  He is presently looking for a Suzuki GT750 (water-buffalo) to help complete his Suzuki "set".   They all look like almost-new, not pristine, but I'd swear I was back in the 1970s again when I saw them all in his garage.

Isn't it funny how the R65 is so unique? I've also run out of room for all my bikes, but the R65 is guaranteed a direct shot to the road.

I sold my first one three years ago and missed it enough that it got replaced first chance. And this one aint goin nowhere - except where I tell it to! :)
