We just got one heck of an earthquake.
USGS Says 5.6
We shook like crazy for 45 seconds.

I saw it on the news this morning - was that the biggest one in your state?

They are scary! I used to live in an earthquake zone in the Ottawa valley and had windows that were loose and oil lamp chimneys that rattled! I could always feel them even when they were epicentred in Albany NY and no one else except the CGS registered them! You always wonder if the rumble will get worse and keep going up and up!!

They can be quite scary, I've been in a few in California, I've felt about 10 minor shocks from earthquakes centered in the southern California area since living in the Phoenix area .
Here's a little bit of info that I bet most people aren't aware of .
The strongest earthquake in the US happened in New Madrid, Missouri in 1811-12, that's about 70 miles or so north of Memphis, Tennessee .
It made the Mississippi river flow north for a while .
