I know that there's another thread buried here somewhere, but ... indulge me. Any preference as to bar-end mirrors? Saw some at Bob's BMW that looked interesting. I tired of looking at my shoulders. Otherwise after owning the 82 R65LS for a couple months, I can honestly say that I love it -- except for the large burn on now have on my lower right leg. That'll teach me to try and out it on the center stand while wearing shorts.

The key/trick to the low bars (assuming you have them) on the LS is that one must get the TALL/LONG stemmed version of the rearview mirrors. The last time I checked, these aren't always easy to find, especially in the black painted version that should go on the LS (instead of the chrome). I bought a new set of black rearviews a year or two ago to get the stock look, but they turned out to (Again) be the shorter version, which on the low euro bars can just barely show beyond my shoulders, and if I've got a wide duffle bag on the back seat (As I will have tomorrow to ride to the national rally in PA) I can't see a thing behind me with them. Soooooooo, my bar end black Napoleans, which give a wider/better rear view perspective, are back on.
If you can score the tall black rear view mirrors, you'll probably be fine. The shorter ones will only work OK if mounted on the tall US handlebars, which look pretty ungainly on the R65LS, IMHO.

It sounds like I should be parting out my bike more and more...

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo don't part it out...you have a cool bike!!!

Well, no one is knocking at my email...

I didn't see an answer. I really like Napoleon bar end mirrors; I have chrome ones on my Triumph and a buddy has a black pair on his /5 Toaster. The work well and look good.
I've seen (pictures only!) a brand advertised called Stadium that are made in England and look really nice too, costing about twice as much as the made in Japan Napoleons.

Thanks for the advice. Managed over the weekend to hit my mirrors with some PB Blaster, which loosened them up, and then adjusted them. Haven't had a chance to ride yet. Still think bar-ends would do a better job.

+1 on the napoleons, they look absolutely perfect on my R65.

I got Napoleons too on both the R65LS, US bars, and the Bonneville. Love them! No more elbow viewing!!

Sue, where did you find you Napoleans for the Triumph? The ones I've seen all require a change of handlebar.
