One of my customers gave me his K100rs. Front tire is severely worn and the rear is getting close. It has Metzlers that he never cared for. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with a good tire for this bike. K bike since I painted it, along with the permaproject R65
In case you're wondering it is an incredible bike ( aside form some ABS issues ) A bit of a step up from an older R bike. different creatures for sure, both equally as fun :)

When you're far from home and it goes "bump in the night", you might just be wish'n you had points, condenser and a set of flat tops instead of a couple of black box's. :)

I have a K75s along with my R65ls. I had Metzlers on the K bike and never felt comfortable with them. They did a strange dance on the rain grooves where I live. I replaced them with Bridgestone BT45's and have been happy ever since.

That was my friends complaint. He had the K1100, A K75 and a R90, never liked the Metz. I'm looking at the Michelin Pilot 2's good price and rave reviews. Unless I hear somethiong neg about them, I think that's where I will go

Wow, I'm surprised you say that about Metzlers. I find the Metzlers are the best tires in the rain on my Goldwing. I have had tried Dunlops and Bridgestones and they don't come close. Others say the same. I guess it may depend on which Metzler line of tires you're using.

Michelin Pilot Road 2's have been on all of our oilheads. The PR3 is out now but I've no experience with them. I run the Battleaxe on the Guzzi California SS but only because that bike has spoked wheels requiring tubes.
Beautiful bike by the way. I had an 85 K100RT and found the Metzlers to be a little squirrely in the rain also. Never had to change them though.

My '02 R1150R came with Michelin Road Pilot tires, I'm on my second replacement set .
No negative comments about them, but I don't get to much experience with wet conditions, living in a suburb of hell .
I'm getting about 12,000 miles out of a set on average .
They are less costly than a set of Metzler Lazertec tires for the R65 !!!!!!
