Looks like the Seattle skyline in one of the shots.

Without a single word being said, it was still such a great story.
Thanks for posting this one, Lou.

WOW

I saw one on TV here like that.the kids ripped off his Norton from the cellar where it had rotted for 30 years.he never noticed it was gone as there was quite a load of crap in his cellar.
It went through a top of the line 10 month restoration and they arranged that dad just happened to be standing in the driveway when his son rode up on the Norton.it brought a tear to my eye and my former girlfriends comment was "big deal, they fixed up a piece of shit, greasy, motorcycle and gave it back to him".
Former girlfriend left suddenly after that.

Bill Costello, who made this video, also posted more photos from the restoration over on the Vintage BMW website:

Also, if you look at the video on the Vintage site, there's a second video that shows the bike firing up before the restoration, with Peter Nettesheim on it. Bill lives on Long Island, and was forunate to meet up with Peter and get his advice and help on the restoration.

If you visit this page, you'll see that there's more to the story as well.

What a wonderful tribute!

Isn't giving your children proper values what it's all about?

I will second that comment about giving your children proper values. My 25 year old son asked me about buying a motorcycle. Without hesitation I told him to buy an airhead. He found a nice R65 with 19,000 original miles and bought it last week. I couldn't be prouder and the best part is I get to ride it while he is taking lessons at a local "basic riding" school. :)
