Looks like MotoGP has signed a deal with the currently under construction Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas for 10 years starting in 2013.
That's a bit further to go than Indy. It doesn't say if it's replacing one of the current venues or adding to it. Should be interesting. Here's the article...

And Austin is a HOOT! ;D
-
This is just too weird...
Just this minute got off the phone with Soldier Son –in Austin– and Zach was all ramped up about the MotoGP boys coming to Austin. Well, actually just east of Austin.
We will be there for sure. By then, Rossi will probably be in the currently empty F1 seat at Ferrari but there's our lad Stoner and other fast rising stars.
BTW, the official motto of the City of Austin, Texas is... wait for it...
Keep It Weird [smiley=mad.gif]

You know Aïda, it just occurred to me that you said you wouldn't go to the MOA national because you don't care for BIG crowds. And yet you guys have been to two GPs at Indy (that I recall). Heck, the crowds don't get much bigger!
(P.S. - I'm with you on the big crowd thing.)
-
Yes, but MOTOGP!!! That is worth the crowds! And I got to ask Rossi a question at the Q&A session. Besides, I've done a dozen nationals or so and they are all the same.

From Cycle World magazine's internet newsletter:

MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 will play in Austin for ten years beginning in 2013. Indy's MotoGP contract expires this year. Laguna Seca's MotoGP contract expires in 2014.
Also, Formula 1 will open its season in Austin next year at the Circuit of the Americas (CotA) near the former Bergstrom AFB, now Bergstrom International Airport.
A 3.4 mile circuit! That's longer than any other circuit that I'm aware of.
I've already called both my sons, extending an invitation for Lynn and I to move in with either/or for the race weekend's duration. Austin has a great public transportation system known as the 'Dillo... think armadillo, the state bird of Texas. ;)
Come join us, Sue!
