OK, I've changed out my avatar photo with one taken by my lovely bride, Mrs. Phorqs on our Fall Colors Ride to Oklahoma and Arkansas. As a follow up to a comment by the wonderful Montmil, I just really have to ask a question, "do these bags make my butt look fat"? True, there is no R65 content here since I was riding my R1100S, but (butt?), I've never seen myself on a motorcycle from behind, and since I have an inquiring mind, I'd llike to know.
OK, I have a pretty thick skin so I'm ready for some of the forums more sensitive comments. [smiley=beehive.gif]

Like I told a female co-worker not too long ago when this subject came up, the only thing that makes your butt look big, is your butt !!!!!!
No butts about it . [smiley=ROTFLMAO.gif]

And Bob R lived to tell the tale. Nicely played, Senor Roller.
All I really have to go on is the July 4th party at Casa Bengt Phorqs. Each time Mike bent over to grab a Shiner Bock out of his very cool Cowboy Rustic Beer Cooler on Wheels... I had a to avert my eyes.
"Oh, the horror." Where be me tube of Butt Crack Dap Spackle Putty?
We love ya, Mike. I voted.

Looks like a BMW on the road to adventure!
Where is the Aux Tank? :-?

Having ridden in numerous mtn bike races and seeing many, many folks wearing spandex who really ought to have something less clingy/more substantial on, I cannot claim to be the best judge - but I can say that the picture is small, my eyes aren't as good, and I've seen much, much scarier stuff 3 feet in front of my front (bicycle) tire.

My very first thought. . . "Great Photo!" (Honestly! Hand raised)
I can't even see your butt in the picture (thank goodness?) ;)

Men lie at a rate of at least 60% I been told when the SO asks "does this make me look fat?" So, learning from the experience of others....... ::)
-
I certainly wouldn't split lanes with that outfit.
-
I think (and I'm actually not kidding here) that the travel lanes on that road appear rather narrow. The grass intruding on either side makes it seem the pavement portion should extend to either side by at least another foot or more.
It looks like your riding on some of those goat paths in Britain that they call 'country roads'! ;-)
You appear fine, Mike - it is the skinny road and the usually capacious BMW bags that are messing with ya..
-
Mike it is a rather narrow road. That is the Talamena Skyway in eastern Oklahoma to Mena Arkansas. About 65 miles of great highway along a mountain top. Here is a slightly larger photo.

That road is on my wishlist! I've probably been down that road as a young'un as I was born in Mena, Ark. and still have family there. Haven't been back that way in a LONG time, but. . .
I WANNA GO!(https://bmwr65.org/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi129.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fp210%2Fcabcgec%2F36_1_331.gif&hash=357293573cb9ea0c9683ccf4480881ed6f0d02a8) And your picture just confirms it even more.

I would have to say those bags make your butt look fast not fat.
