Love it. Of course as a distance runner I had a pretty good idea anyway, as I had so many distances memorized:
5 km = 3.1 mile
10 km = 6.2 mile
15 km = 9.3 miles
50 km (only ran two!) = 31 miles
...now I feel tired.

Let me be a little arrogant: 1 km ~ 0.6 miles which means that a given distance in kms multiplied with 0.6 gives appr. the same distance in miles.
1 mile ~ 1.6 km which means that a given distance in miles multiplied with 16 gives appr. the same distance in kms.
50 miles ~ 80 km
60 miles ~ 100 km
100 miles ~ 160 km
anything above that pr hour takes a strong wind and a steep hill.

when I lived in yerp and drove in italy we used the Kilometers X .6= MPH
it was close enough for government work.
