Ol' Texas Burt got me thinking. Thinking too much usually leads me down some path towards new adventures. Life is rather short, so...
Tomorrow, Sunday, I hope to visit a gent that has a Hinckley 1995 Triumph Trophy 900 for sale. Triumph hard bags, taller tinted windshield, aftermarket mufflers, pillion backrest, and only 18K miles. Beautiful condition.
The Chief-of-the-House has blessed the possibility of adding a fourth scooter to our collection. She's actually interested in a few two-up trips. Go figure.
More later. Hopeful, while remaining cautiously optimistic. ;)

I'm your huckleberry Monte. Let's go get that bad boy tomorrow!!

The Trophy 900 was a bike I had interest in back in the 90s - ended up with my Concours, but came very close to getting a Trophy 900. They aren't always the the most accomodating for shorter-legged riders, in case that is of any concern.

Thanks, Mike, for your comments. Neither Lynn nor I are inseam challenged.

It is done. There is no turning back.
Bengt Phorqs -on hand in an attempt to keep me rational; plus his opinion is highly valued, my bride Lynn and I rendezvoused with an anxious seller just after noon this Sunday.
Closed the deal, suited up with ATGATT and headed north for home. I asked the seller if there was sufficient fuel for a thirty-five mile ride. He casually glanced at the trip odometer and said, "The reserve position is straight down."
That dog started barking just as I spotted an interstate off ramp and an Exxon station. Whew!
It's a beautiful thing. No buzz through the bars, footpegs, nor in the mirrors. The sound generated by the 120 degree Triumph Triple crankshaft firing order is like no other.
Alas, one of the R65s must go to gain some room in the shop. I'll deal with that issue next Spring.

Truly is a purty thang there Monte. Very clean and well cared for. You done really good. Just a few small fasteners missing but no biggy. And the missus even looked really proud sitting pillion.
Just one comment though and that is the last time I saw anyone riding a motorcycle while wearing penny loafers, he was on a step thru Lambretta while wearing chinos and a madras shirt. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Flippin' fashion police are everywhere! Wife to Monte... "You're not planning on wearing That, are you?"
"Oh no, dear. Don't want to offend." :D
Can't wait to spring the new Turnip on my biker buddies at work tomorrow...
-
I'm glad that you got the bike in the proper COLOR as well !
You should be quite happy with that bike on longer runs, just don't forget about the R65 that you came to the dance with...
-
Woo Hoo another Triumph! Way to go Monte!
-
Awesome bike, Monte. I guess you won’t have to be painting that one! Congratulations and good luck deciding when and which R65 to let go of. Maybe just build a bigger garage. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Years ago I figured that '2' was the perfect number of bikes to have in the garage... now that I am older and wiser, I think the perfect number is '3'!
:D

Ha! My wife mentioned that topic just this evening during Happy Hour.
I casually suggested she buy a smaller car. Not going to happen, there.
And the Triumph triple will be for two-up weekend getaways. The R65s will remain my primary go to scoots.

Congrats on the new bike !
Hope you don't have a WWII re-enactment with British and German vehicles in the garage !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Very nice Bike Monte. I've always wanted to try out one of those Triumph Triples.
-

Monte, there's a guy posting on the BMWMOA site as of last night (the Airheads board, I think) who's looking at an "84 R65 with thoughts of buying. (He has an R100 now, I vaguely recall.) Goes by the handle, "dbrick." Was asking for opinions about the R65.
Maybe, check him out & tell him, if he doesn't like the '84, you have one that he might consider?
Sorry you have to give up a toy.

Ha! The cars don't belong in the garage!!! ::) :P Our SIX motorcycles get first priority. The cars just have to wait out in the weather.
Congrats on the find, Monte! You should really enjoy that one.
