Title: Barber Bound
Post by: montmil on September 18, 2010, 01:41:56 PM
It is done. Hotel booked, tickets purchased, leave time approved, cooler, beer and ice ready. Oh yeah... one bag of chips in case we get hungry.

The Mike n' Monte Road Show, aka Senior's Prom, departs Dallas at zero dark-thirty on 07 October. Destination is the Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, Alabama, for the 6th Annual Barber Vintage Festival.

Vintage AHMRA road racing, trials, motocross, the famous Barber Museum, auctions and vendors out the wahzoo will insure that the Two M's will owe a year's worth of Honey Do's upon our eventual return. But what the hey...

Stay tuned for photos and tall tales upon our return to what passes for normalcy.

YeeHaw, y'all!  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

And I thought Monte had found a place to get free haircuts along with the free donuts!   ;D

My challenge is going to be keeping Monte on the straight and narrow path to Barber's.  I'm sure there are some great funeral homes in Shreveport, Vicksburg, and Birmingham along I-20, but we can't stop for the free coffee and donuts no matter how much he begs and wheedles.  Micky D's usually has senior coffee for a quarter so I'll make sure he doesn't run out. ;D

Save a buck where you can. More for the vendor mart at the "hair cut" races. :D

And Mike actually turned down my offer to chauffeur him to Alabama in my brides Cadillac DTS. The ride fits in at any funeral home's back door entrance for coffee and a muffin.
