Title: Engine Spacers
Post by: DgM on March 24, 2008, 11:43:53 AM
My 1983 R65 has had the solid front spacers between the frame and engine replaced with rubber and I would like to return to metal spacers.  I have two sets of spacers, thick and thin, and have gotten mixed information about what goes where - thick on left, thin on right, vice versa, two thin, etc.  I have seen R65s with two thin spacers, none with two thick spacers.  Anyone have the answer?  Are there spacers for the rear mounts?  What are the correct sizes for those?  Thanks.

Will have to take a look to see - will get back to this in a day or so..
checking the fiche at A&S Cycle is inconclusive...

I installed two metal spacers the same width (stock) as the rubber spacers I removed, torqued locknuts.  Bike tracks straight, gulp factor while cornering is gone daddy gone.  R65 returns to sweet handling self.  Anyone with rubber spacers out there?  Replace with metal and enjoy the curves.
