Title: carburator "varnish"

You know the build-up of copper color that builds up on the bottom of carbs?  Does anyone have a suggestion on the best product to remove it?

The brown deposit is residual wax from the fuel. You can remove it with carb cleaner,or,ifyou are environmentally conscious, pure "simle green" and a toothbrush.

Several carb cleaning products will work on this fine.  A product that I have yet to try but which a number of people recommend to me is
called "Sea Foam", which is used to clean fuel systems in marine engines.

Berrymans B-12 will dissolve it immediately, but be careful to quickly flush it off plastic parts and don't let it sit too long on nice shiny paint.  I find it to be one of the most powerful solvents available "over the counter" and would be lost without it.

Berrymans B-12 is the stuff, unless you're in California. I've been led to understand that it's banned there!
