Title: Getting forks done

Seeing as though my garage is cluttered with road test bikes (a Yamaha FZ6R and Kawasaki ER6F) I decided to do the forks on 'Mutti'.

Stanchions are being fixed, new seals & doing the helicoil plug insert and also fitting brake shoes - long overdue!

As for the road test bikes. The Yamaha is a sweet 4-cyl with good useable power, but the parallel twin cyl Kawasaki wins on the powerstakes.

Both are easy to ride and nice 'n compact ..... I prefer the Yam in corners.

You tease!  We here in the colonies only know some of these bikes.

The Yamaha, OTOH, is a common sight here in the states.

We have the Kawasaki Ninja 650, and the Versys, that use the same, or at least a similar parallel twin 650cc powerplant.   Both bikes received pretty good reviews over here, but the styling and the fiberglass work doesn't look nearly so clean as the euro models.

The rear shock is offset - makes for easy access.   All the testers over here complained that the seat on our version is not good for anything over 1 hour riding time at a shot, and the passenger accomodations are worse.  But the power plant and handling is quite pleasant.
