Post by: dav on July 04, 2009, 04:45:50 AM
Hi guys & gals :), i just joined your fourm so i had to drop in & say hi to all. Iam from the land down under, how many other aussie's are on here?.Now about the r65, my father owned the bike before i bought it from him (yes, i had to pay him he would't just give it to me  :'( ;)). The old man rebuilt the bike (before i bought it) but he did't ride it after it all was done (health problems) & she was just sitting there dying to be ridden, i rode her every day (work, trips etc) but that was 10yrs ago. At the moment she is back at the stage of just sitting there again  :'(, but iam working on that, she will be ridden again real soon, father & i started her up for the first time in 3yrs the other week, the grin lasted all week  :), next step rego & then ride we shall 8-)...anyway hi to all & long live the boxer

Hi Dav, yeah there are a few aussies, flat twins thrive in this climate, careful where you park as they tend to breed in the back shed.

Wow... another R65er from Down Under! Welcome, Dav. Stop by often.

Guess I'd better break out my Texan-Aussie-Texan translation program; y'all have some unique lingo that I think even our English and Euro members don't fully comprehend!

Keep us posted on your R65. What vintage is it?

Monte

Welcome aboard !

We've got a growing number of guys, and at least one gal from your fair continent.   I'm sure that more of them will join in soon - they seem a friendly lot.
 :)

Hi Dav - welcome to the group. There are quite a number of us from down Melbourne way - or further south-west....

Keep us updated with pics of the resto or refurb as the case maybe.

Cheers

Welcome Dav. Boy, it is very encouraging to see more Australians joining the forum. Have we got enough members and are they spread out enough to have a string of places to stay if we ever are lucky enough to visit? ;)

Not that any of us can afford to go but it would be nice to have an International R65 Ralley somewheres.  (Dreaming on)

We're getting so we can have our own rally with the flag here in Oz, Only thing is I'm still 3000kms from anyone else here in Darwin.
It's a great ride, I did it in my single days, down the centre and up the East coast, however I need something with 4 seats to do a trip like that now.

I'd Love to live in the fast lane, but I'm married to a speed hump.

Ooops here comes that domestic violence again. ;D
