As some of you remember, last month I bought an R1150RTP from where msbuck works. I had originally planned on flying out and riding it back but to preserve domestic tranquility I agreed to have it shipped. FIRST MISTAKE!
I had only shipped via Forward Air in the past and was very pleased with the speed in which you got your stuff along with the drive-in, strap down, lock door shipping containers were extremely robust. But, I didn't want to put anybody out to take the bike to a Forward Air terminal and "box it up" so I decided to try one of the door-to-door shippers. SECOND MISTAKE!!
I did a bit of research on the web and decided on Haulbikes/Daily Direct Motorcycle Transportation who also turned out to be extremely economical at $475 door-door. THIRD MISTAKE!!!
It has now been over a month since I faxed the contract to Daily Direct and was told this morning that the bike will be leaving their WI terminal (after getting THERE last weekend) this weekend on it's way in my direction. Hopefully mine won't be at the tail-end of the delivery schedule or it could be several more weeks before I see it! [smiley=furious3.gif]
The driver had originally told Capitol Cycle that he would have the bike to me about 10 days after pickup...

Ahhhh, what price domestic tranquility? You could have flown out on a one way ticket and then flown back on the RT. In the event of being stopped by a smokie do what I do, just flash them one of your Junior Park Ranger badges from any federal park and request a little "Professional Courtesy". Usually they get to laughing so hard they won't write it up.
With any luck at all you'll get it soon. Let's just hope that it still in that nice of a condition when you open the crate. Keep us posted.

Verra nice - I would also be very anxious to get that baby into MY garage, too!
Did you get a dual seat with it, or just the solo seat with the radio-box as shown? You could probably fit all sorts of neat tools and stuff into that space - if your wife doesn't force you to get a dual seat and take her with you!

I received an e-mail from the shipper to expect delivery between June, 7 - June, 9... So much for their advertised average pickup and delivery times. BUT, they are very careful to NOT make any guarantees...
