I like the idea of using some jerry cans to make into panniers. Anyone use anything other than stock BMW/Krauser stuff?

I remember somebody fabbing some out of rather large ammo cans.

I've been lusting after "Caribou Cases" ever since I first saw them - they are basically Pelican cases converted to panniers. In my experience using them to transport expensive and delicate camera gear I've found Pelican cases to be nearly indestructible.

Check the prices for those Reindeer Cases. Yikes! The DIY aluminum cases look professional. I'd hazard a guess that the materials ran about 10-15 percent of the factory jobs. Count your time as educational hours and bank the difference.

I love DIY stuff  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
