With all this talk about the flag, I was just wondering if our o/s brethren would be interested in making a donation specifically for a flag that can be sent around to those of us living out of the US?
If there is enough interest, I'm sure we could organise something.
-
Don't see why we can't send the flag overseas as well - unless it's cost prohibitive. What would cost more, posting the flag overseas or getting a new one?
Organize an event and we'll get the flag to ya!
-
Just let me know. I am in possession.
-
Well my idea seems to be a bit of a fizzer.... :'(
Ah well. I guess we'll take you up on the idea of having it posted out to us if and when necessary.
Oh - hang on - does it have it's passport up to date?
-
Don't forget old Blighty - there are a few of us.....
-
Round 'em up, Steve.

Required is you post a picture of your group here with "the flag".
It's kinda cool how important that is to the rest of us!!! ;)
-
We might need more than one of these then.
Or................. we could send it around so each person has it and have a picture taken of them with whoever they are with on the road, be it at a rally or a ride. I've seen other things going around the world like this. Then we could keep track of it and have a special album in the photo gallery where someone could put all the pictures as they come in. We could follow it around the world. 8-) And everyone would sign it when they have it.
What do you think?
-
A brilliant fantastic idea.
and everyone shares the cost by mailing it to the next person
you must take it on minimum of one ride and take a photo.
maybe even posing besides landmarks/local celebrity
A traveling flag, even better than stealing someones gnome and taking it on holidays mailing travel photos back home.
:D
-
Ain't it cool how the world can be brought together so much closer by a little flag? ;)
-
I Love it! ;D [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=clap.gif]
I have set up a photo album and put the current pictures in it. We know we have the MOA National rally in July. Anything up before then?
-
Well, I'm going to try and make the Georgia Mountain Rally this year, May 1-3. Never been before, but have been told it is one of the better rallies in the southeast!
My motto for '09 is going to be, "any old excuse to ride! ;)
-
Wow! I had a good idea? [smiley=deal2.gif] Heh heh heh! Darwin_R65 particularly likes it with 3 posts stating the same. ;D
I'm going to the 49er Rally over Memorial Day Weekend. Maybe John could get it for the Georgia Mountain Rally and send it to me. Then I could send it off to the next person.
Aussie, keep us aprised of when you might want it. The flag looks small enough so that it won't cost much to send it by the fast boat. ;)
May is pretty much the start of the riding season here in the US. How much more good riding do you have until the winter season down under?
-
Me thinks Darwin is just trying to get his posts up due to his travwlling around Aus!
Melena - a slow boat - ye gads! Surely we could spring for a plane????
I have to say that the weather is starting to turn (not before time though). Having said that however, last year in March we had our big heat wave - 15 consecutive days of 40C+ temps.
I agree with Darwin - maybe we could take photos of it next to landmarks. I hate to say this but the states here are just a tad larger than elsewhere...our largest cattle station is in the Northern Territory and it's larger than TX. Most of the rally's are interstate and it is a minimum of 6 hours travel there and they are usually on a normal weekend. There ain't many Airhead rallys... :'(
Does anyone object to this 'slight' variation?
Having said this - our member numbers are growing in Oz (though admittedly it seems to be those inferior LS machines).. ::)

Oh, okay. We'll send it to you by air. ;) And I agree about the photos next to landmarks. There are some of us here in the US that aren't going to make a rally, and probably the same for others around the world. I would love to see pictures of whoever has the flag with the flag next to some really neat place. Hey! Aussie! You could take a picture with a Koala. 8-)

At least you are at home typing and not trying to drive around with all that port in you. [smiley=1drink.gif]

Sounds like I should get it sent off to John?
-
well if you need my address again let me know.
So now I'll have to decide whether a ride with the Ulysses group or the Motor Vehicle Enthusiasts Club
John
-
Sorry, Darwin_R65, I was refering to SCJJR65 "John", since he mentioned something on the first of May.
We might have time to get it to you and back?
Yes, I should still have your address.... :-/
-
should we have one for inside Americas, and one for outside ???
-
Pretty good Aussie....LS types indeed! ....yeeesh! [smiley=ROTFLMAO.gif]
I think Darwin and I will have something in common other than our R65's!!! [smiley=beerchug.gif] In a proper wine glass that is...oh heck, who cares?! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

I sip my port from a schooner (15oz)
:D
-
Any port in a storm.
Or in nice weather, for that matter.

One flag to find 'em,
One flag to in light bind them. ;)
We may need a bigger flag tho... Running out of room for signatures!!!
