I'm interested in a low cost work stand and I'm looking for info on home made wooden ones. I've seen plans for steel stands and I do get
Harbor Freight flyers. Lets keep this to plans for wood and home made. I've found a couple of examples and looking for more. So if anyone has plans, or has a home made stand I'd love to hear 'bout it.

I made this bike table out of a Honda quad crate.I was working at a Honda shop and we just used to throw the crates out.I narrowed it down by cutting the centre section out.I can adjust the height by using different height legs - the top and bottom frames are separate,the box section legs just drop in.....but it's perfect at the height it is now.It was going to be too hard to make it a lift table,so just push the bikes up a ramp.That's ok for smaller dirt bikes,but big bikes take some extra hands.My next trick will be to mount a small winch at the front,then I can just winch them up walking beside the bike.The stand I use for putting my trials and dirt bikes in my van (sold) or trailer - just push it in and it stays there,no need to hold the bike in any way,can go on either end.But the R65 has a good center stand,so would rarely use it on the R65.

Seems I remember Joan building a collapsable wooden stand and posting plans somewhere for it. Maybe e-mail or PM her... But, for my monet, you can't beat the HF lift...

Seems I remember Joan building a collapsable wooden stand and posting plans somewhere for it. Maybe e-mail or PM her... But, for my monet, you can't beat the HF lift...
Joan's stand is no longer represented by an active link (I have it).
I also downloaded the file of it, so I do still have the info. I thought the 3-D software for it was neat. I'll find it and send it to you, Justin. Maybe you can figure out how to host it. I am told I have free server space with my DSL subscription, but I have yet to figure out how to access it.

Rich, I did screen shots of the file Rob provided and put them in this archive. It wasn't the one I was thinking of but this one looks like it takes 2 sheets of plywood or MDF and a few hinges.

That's an interesting one. I'm collecting all these for presentation to my wood working brother in law. Dunno which one we will fab up but the designs are all interesting. I'm kinda leaning to the plywood ones for simplicity. Still looking. I recall seeing one with storage underneath somewhere. I've converted the files you attached to .jpeg in case anyone can't open them in their .rar format. Be happy to send them along to anyone. Thanks for searching and sending Rob and Justin!!

The .rar is just an archive, anybody should be able to view the .tiff files inside.

With ANY work stand that puts a motorcycle up off the floor, I would strongly encourage the use of tie down straps -as a minimum- to help secure the bike.
My local BMW guru has a beautiful air lift table that I occasionally get to use. But before I step on the lift switch, the front tire gets locked in a large fixture and tie downs secure any side-to-side movement.
The linked images of the bike with a floor jack holding the chassis while the front wheel dangles in space are disturbing. Like Grandpa Jones line on Hee Haw, "Don't do that !"

Justin, I think the problem comes with trying to open the .RAR file. The compression format isn't as easily expanded as the .TIF file is to view. Maybe a .ZIP format might be more easily expanded.
