Look forward to seeing you folks at the Gathering of the Clans.
If anyone's up for a second weekend in a row, this promises to be a fun one, too:

Looks interesting! He shows directions to Blue Grass, VA but not to the rally site. Is this one hard to find? Guess I need to decide so I can REGISTER before that Saturday morning! This is a beautiful area. My very favorite ride and the one I dream about is up highway 220 through VA. ;D

I swear I've seen directions to the site (it's on a working sheep farm, not a campground with strong signage) but for the life of me can't get the site to load right now.
Would love to ride up with others, so if you plan on attending, I'm right on the way.
Here's pics of last year's event posted by the TVR folks http://twinvalleyriders.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=907&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

I emailed the host re: directions.

"least populated county east of the Mississipi"
I like the sounds of that!

A most excellent link, Jonathan, and a trip definitely worth checking into. Thanks especially for the pics: I think I recognized Fritz and Hank in a couple?
Can't guarantee the "2 weekends in a row" thing, but the Bluegrass rally has for sure been penciled in. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Thanks again.

I 2nd Steve on the link, J.
It wasn't until I clicked on Arum Rae's (http://www.arumrae.com/music.htm) link (performer at the rally), and listened to some of her music while looking through the pictures of last year's rally that I got some idea of what I missed. And will probably miss again this year...
And I WANT a Maple Dog! :P

I was hooked once I heard this year's entertainment, Alex Caton. Her voice is incredible. Can't wait.

I love that! I had a feeling that would be the answer... ;) I did find the map of Blue Grass. The pictures you linked to really does give a good idea of what it's all about. Thanks for letting us in on this one!

Y'all missed out on a great trip to Blue Grass.

Thanks a lot for the great link & pics, Jonathan. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Looks like a great time was had by all; well, except the dude that launched his V Strom, of course. Hopefully the road rash wasn't too painful!
Fritz looks like he's just discovered an alien object in that 1st pic of him on a bicycle, but apparently mastered the art pretty quickly.
Is that his Aprilia that decided to start discarding extra parts?? [smiley=shocked.gif]
-
yes that's his Aprilia. Blue lost her left turn signal (stem). Still trying to figure out a good fix.
-
So the Suzuki rider crashed, and you and another rider just mysteriously started shedding parts?
What is that about?

Dude, WTF indeed! I rode Blue around for several thousand miles over 2 years, and never had any parts fall off!
You guys must be playing too hard or something! :o
FWIW, I have a spare turn signal body without lens, if you need that part.
I've seen entire front mounting plates w/stalks on Ebay, or you could make something up with the correct diameter PVC (or whatever) plumbing pipe, spray painted black, and a little epoxy.
If you can use the part, just holler... :-?
-
The left stalk was a little loose when I got Blue. I think I snagged it with the cover on Saturday morning and the final tack weld broke. After 180 miles of fun, it was dangling. Several attempts and nearly a full package of JB Weld failed, so I surgically removed the light and rode without it on Sunday.
You did send another entire light with the bike, but that's not the problem. Unfortunately I think I globbed on too much JB weld to re-weld the tube in its correct location, but will try to clean it up and have a buddy weld the tube to the bracket. Worst case scenario, the bracket is $110 new.
Oddly the Aprilia had broken the same bolt twice before, and Fritz actually had a spare in his bags.
There was another R65 at the event, but I never did find the owner. Got some pics which I'll post later.

Original welds were a weak spot from the factory

J, Which turn signal went south? I have the rear bar if you need it.
