Title: Kerker Exhaust
Post by: tagordon on January 19, 2008, 08:36:28 AM
I bought a Kerker 2 into 1 exhaust for my R100 Cafe.
Seller received 'em with purchase of R100CS. He offered 'em up & I jumped on it.
Here's the question. Any of you have experience with Kerker's?
I suppose I will learn what I need to know when I have parts in hand.
Just excited to get another chunk of weight of the cafe.
Wondering if tunable like Super Trapp.

I had Kerkers back in '79 on a 4 cyl suzuki. As far as tuning the only option was to vary the amount of packing on the silencer core in the megaphone. There was a super trapp adapter that took the place of the core and from there you could vary the number of plates for tuning. The super trapp end had a really nice sound to it but required some additional drilling to mount on the megaphone end.

I think they were bought out by Supertrapp.  I have a support phone number for them.  You can still get different diameter exhaust cones for your Kerker "can" last I checked.

Try 216-265-8400.

Thanks for the replies.
Either of you know if the pipes will clear the oil cooler? The filter cover on the case. Or do I have to give up the cooler?

Semper Gumby is correct Kerker is now SuperTrapp. I couldn't find any info on your pipes but they do have a forum you could ping to see about the cooler/ filter clearance.

I have no clue.  I have never seen a Kerker on a BMW!  Can we have some pics please?

Pipes & muffler are in transit currently.
Definitely will post pics soon as possible.
I am so excited to try this set up.
All other 2-1 for BMW that I have found were with muffler on left.
This one is on right. I really Like the way it shows of the mono. The wheel shows no visible attachment when viewed from the left. Also if doing an oval track run they run all left turns. So nothing to hit ground till the jugs touch.
