I think the common conception, is that motorcycles are 'throw-away' type items more like 'toys', not serious transportation, not to be kept for 15-20 years, let alone ridden on a daily basis.
That may of been true with other makes (Asian), but nothing could be farther from the truth with BMW.
But with the reality of fuel costs today, that may change.

Wow, 200,000 miles on the same bike? :o Incredible!!!
Truly a testimony to the BMW brand, and our own R65 in particular! I tip my hat to this dude for keeping his R65 all these years! Bravo!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] Not many folks are willing to hang on to the same ride for that many years (our own Rob V. is a shining example of one "keeping the faith" (and the same bike)!
(Maybe someday Britta will join the 200,000 mile club! Only 50k more to go!) ::)

Put Graham in that club! He bought his R100 new in 1981 and is still riding strong with almost 150k on it. He'll be riding it up to the Gathering this weekend. We wouldn't trade these old bikes...
