Title: Old Newbie
Post by: Tim_McGee on September 02, 2007, 07:14:43 AM
Not a newbie but a re-registered present member. I changed my E Mail address and couldn't figure out how to change all that so I re-registered. I live in Creola, AL and have 4 Air Heads one of which is a 1981 R65 called "Peppy". I'm the Moderator of a local Air Head Group on Yahoo Groups. Love my Air Heads because of their ease of maintenance. Nearest dealer to me 300 miles.

Welcome, Tim!  Sounds like you are a true "airhead" too, with four of 'em in your stable! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Being from Alabama, I guess you've seen the Barber Motorsports Museum, huh?  What a gem of an arrangement of some of the greatest motorcycles in history, all in one place!  By chance, are you a member of the Alabama Beemers Club?  I'm the newsletter editor of our local BMW club's newsletter, and our club exchanges newsletters monthly with them.

You'll have to post a pic of "Peppy" sometime!  I named mine as well ("Britta")!  We look forward to seeing your posts and pics!   Again, glad to have you on board (again!)  ;)

Found another pic of my R65. Its a 1981 with a Rabid Transit Fairing and a Russell Day long seat. Also has electric grips.

Tim,
Nice R65 you have there.  The more I see of the Russell Day Long seat the more I'm thinking about getting one.  Looks like that bike will take you many happy miles.

You do have a great stable there.  I think your only problem is to decide which bike to take.   :-/

Good to have you on our forum.

Great looking bike ! Welcome aboard. I've got one question, the bike is an '81 model, but has a single front disc, is this by chance a non-US model bike ?

Hi Tim,

Glad you found your way hear too!!!  I have felt lust in my heart for the RTF on your R65 but I'm dealing with it.  I will probably trade my Luftmeister in for a Hannigan.  :D

At least were not arguing over the GMR here!   :-?
