looks like i will be moving on up. no i am not selling my r65! my wife found a great home that is four blocks up the hill from us. we have a nice house except it is becoming to small to fast for our growning family. we have six kids, yes i said six and four of them are knocking on teenage years so we need the space and our 1100 sq. ft. home with three bedrooms is on the little side. we have the banking all set up and a solid offer in on a 2300 sp ft place and thats not counting the basement or the thrid floor which isnt 100% finished yet. it is a double lot with a small garage for me to play in.
keeping our fingers cross! i keep telling my wife that if it is meant to be it will happen easy without any problems, so far it looks good.
so when we get the place i will have room for any vistors! or campers!

yep...ya need the room........good luck........... enjoy those kids.......they will soon be gone

Remember, you need at least 1000 sq. ft. of shop space so figure that in when you are going into debt! ;)

the thing with me and a shop is i have a 9000 sp ft shop that i run. my boss lets me do anything i want here as long as it is off the clock. we have a bull pen (closed in fense area) where we (my self and the techs that work for me) hide our stuff when we are on the clock. you have to see this place on saturday afternoon and sunday! bikes, hot rods and a drag car all over the work bays, plus just aout all my tools are here so i dont need a shop at home other than putzing around in to stay away from mom when shes mad at us (i count myself with the kids most of the time)
thanks again! we are hoping to hear something on tuesday! but most likely wont till wednesday.

Good luck, Jon. Think "15-year mortgage".

we heard back the owner made a minor counter offer that we accepted. so now a bunch of paperwork. we will then start with doing what ever we want to the new place before moving out of the old. the house we have now is bought and paid so we dont need to sell to get the other, and we can get the new place the way we want before moving in. once we do that we will go through the other house make minor repairs and then i plan on sanding down the floors (all hardwood floors) and re sealing them and painting wall white then put it up on the market. once that sells we will put that to the new house and our new morgage should only be for about 10 years max if we get a average to fair price for the house and if we do a little better than fair market value we will build a BIG garage!

Sounds like you have done things right in your financial life!

i think rob just called me cheap! ;D
i was lucky enough to have a very smart friend and mentor when i was in the service. he taught me how to save my money and make small investments like CD's and taking my tax return money and investing those into CD's. we bought our first home with cash, no bank. so we have been alittle spoiled the last ten years not having a house payment.
i have been trying my hand at some minor investing and been doing all right with some of the future markets. but i still do better when someone else manages the investing.
