i have the VIN, but not sure how old the bike is. VIN is just stamped on the frame, not on a plate like other bikes i've had.
-
Post the VIN, only the last 7 characters are necessary to due a search.
-
Just got here: how old's the bike in/from Vegas? Congrats on the purchase, by the way.
Go here http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/enginechassis.htm to look up your VIN to find out.
Then root around in there and see all the othercool stuff too, maybe get some painting ideas & such.
Good luck!

VIN is: 6386424•R65
*ahem*.. it only HAS seven numbers!very strange
-
6386424, made in October 1981.
Does it have dual front discs?
Oops. sorry, just saw your other phone pic w/single disc, so no doubt sold as an '82.
Damn, you got the bike + bags & racks & backrest, etc. for under $500?? :o
Where are all these great deals coming from lately??!!
And how come I'm never there!!???
-
Agreed. Date of manufacture is October (best month) 1981 so this would be after the factories month long August break. (don't you just love the German attitude toward time off!) making it a 1982 model year. sheesh, why did I ever leave Leica?http://www.leica.com/
