[size=12] 8-) These are THE cool guy thing for the R65 rider, good quality and they look so nice, they will last!
THANK YOU Melena for doing all the work to get them! [smiley=clap.gif] [smiley=clap.gif] [smiley=clap.gif]
When I've got one attached to my gear somewhere, I'll post a pic. If I remember how. ;D
Now then, the R65 Tatt Day 2/24 is still on... any other committed R65 riders? Besides me?
... ?
....? ..... ?
Hey, I NEED this tatt, for therapy reasons! Yes! Because I finally went to the doc yesterday for a nagging pang in my left shoulder, all crunchy from the KLR get-off last August and not getting any better, making it harder and harder to push pull Gram in and out of the car... and I knew what the doc was gonna say. >:(
So in case you didn't know, the scritchy scratchy, temporary ouchie of a tattoo will entirely take your mind off any other owies you have, including stoopid six month old mc crash fractures that won't heal.
So ya'll come on up to Seattle on 2/24, I got wifi, guest room, bikes to ride, beer, antique cats, and the Fenix Tattoo downtown. [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [/size]
-
:D YES! Melena is aces for getting those made - with her own money, to boot!
So what did the doc say about the nagging pang? I would like to get rid of mine... :'(
I am also curious what the doc had to say about your prospective "pain relief"? You did tell him what you planned to do, didn't you?
-
I have a BMW tattoo mixed in with all the others on my arms don't think I need a R65 tat though as my other beemers might get jealous.

Hmmm.... what size is that BMW tatt? And where is it? Is like the standard blue/white propeller black circle and "B M W" logo up there in the corner or maybe like Wild Bill's outta this world eyeball? Hmm..hmm.. (deep thought)...
Now you've got me all in a dither! Argh! Thanks a LOT. ;D

I think my massage therapist can fix just about anything. Sadly he no longer takes new patients, lives most of the year where I support him in luxury in HI, and they (M. T.) are definitely not all created equal. I think lots of times nagging injuries have, in fact, healed all they are going to, but left scar tissue which will continue to irritate and inflame the surrounding tissue.
Getting some of this stuff fixed, for me, has definitely hurt worse than the initial injury, but when he was done it was obviously fixed. Very dramatic.
I don't need any tattoos, but I would love to make it up there some time. Are they ever going to suspend the speed limit on that crummy I5?

When she saw the films I brought back from the nice radiology lady, I got a good scolding, but so what? They have no PT slots for SIX WEEKS. [smiley=wall.gif] And I thought no riding for the past three weeks was bad... PMS SUCKS CANAL WATER.
And no, Rob, I got smarter then and didn't mention the planned whisky and tattoo palliatives. ;D

Oh yah, I've got an MT like that, Bevin K, a couple blocks from the office, but the fracture needs more time (still??) to heal before I can start a good Rolfing session.
Anyhow, come on up, Ed! I don't need any tattoos either! Only 2.5 leisurely hours on I-5 from Portland! Fenix Tattoo on 1st Avenue is open Saturdays 12pm to 2am. I'll drop by there sometime next week to show the tattoo guy the 1"x 2" R65 outline and ask for estimate$.
And no thanks to The [smiley=evil.gif] Lowen, now thinking about adding a Wild Bill Eye Ball to the design!
-
My BMW tat is a speedometer pegged at 100mph with a ton up spade logo in the center of the speedo and BMW blue and white as the back ground looks good with my 59 club logo right next to it.
-
Well, maybe go the Von Dutch route and put wings on Bills eyeball! ;D

Way to go Lowen! Can you post a pic of that, or is it just a design so far? Sadly my BMW speedo pegs at 85, so it just wouldn't be the same. Too bad I can't peg the Bonnies 150 mph speedo. :'( I always like those ton up guys' web site, tho the rockabilly music blairing always startles the heck out of me. No chapters around here that I know of.

Not a very good pic but hey I just took it with my phone. My 84 R65 came with a 120mph speedometer but it died and now I have one the 85mph jobs.
-
...I don't see any picture. What is the rabbit? (I clicked on your www link and saw you in the chat room!)

All I see a small red ex box thing. Poo!
Say... I think I've heard of the 59's, but where I heard about them is another question. And I've been to DFW, like, a couple weeks ago! Yes! Plus I'll be at Howard and Jill's wedding next month, just outside DFW. Ya'll going to the wedding? Howard's got a couple cute little R80's.
If the pretty R65.org patch weren't so durn LARGE I'd get a tatt just like it, butt... I'm still leaning toward the simple "R65 outline". And Jeeez, I'd better hurry up and get the design finished!
-
How about now?

How about now?
"How do you like me now?" (massive giggles) W000t!
I bow down to The [smiley=evil.gif] Rocker Mod Known As Lowen! That's genius use of the propeller logo. Subtle, classy, excellent.
My single "R65" is looking kind of plain to me now. Mostly because of the extra stuff there with the speedo.
Hmmmm... now I'm thinking: flaming R65 WildBill eyeball tatt? Yeah... um, appropo considering my grenaded motor. ::)
That's really cool upper arm art! I know I wouldn't be able to sit still for much of that, so you are TOUGH! ;D
-
You should see the Vampirella tat that goes from shoulder to elbow on the back of that arm. Talk about pain! The outline did'nt hurt but the multiple colors over the already tender skin was'nt much fun at all. Looks great though and in the end thats all that matters to me.
-
Hey Melena,
My missing patches turned up. :D
Thank goodness,
-
I guess they were stitched to the back of your arm this whole time?
We all knew that.
Lowen, I had to study that thing a while to figure all the stuff out. Good one. I'm too vain for tattoos on myself, but I like them on others.
-
Bill,
Thank goodness you found them. I've only got about 25 left. If I would ever get it together and put up a post about them with a picture, I'm sure they would be gone fast. ;)
-
Here is a picture....hmmm..how did that bag of chocolates get into the picture?
-
Hell with those patches... How much for that big-ass bag of dark chocolates?!?!? :P
-
Hey I didn't get any chocolate with my patch!

-
Bill,
You weren't supposed to tell anyone about the chocolate. ;)
Really, now, I couldn't afford to give chocolate with the patches too. Then people would blame me for getting them too fat to get into their riding jackets. :o Can't have that, now can we? ;D
Sorry I haven't been writing much lately. My home computer is having troubles. And I seem to be running out of hours in the day. :-? And work has been too busy. I don't know what happened this afternoon as I seem to be a little less busy, but I'm sure they will make up for it tomorrow.
-
Hey I didn't get any chocolate with my patch!
Mr R dood, you've got bloomin bouganvillea and PALM trees, sun and dry roads AND a special Melena made R65 dot org patch already sewn on yer arm! I'll trade you places for a bag o' 70% Ghirardelli! [smiley=cheesy.gif]
-
Joan, it's not OUR fault you live up there where it rains 7 out of every 6 days... :P I couldn't deal with that, I spent two weeks up there at Microshaft a few years ago and was about ready for the rubber room! [smiley=mad.gif] I don't know how y'all keep from turnin' into droolin', axe murderin' basket cases! I get unstable after about 3 days with no sun... :-?

Whew! [smiley=drowning.gif] Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. [smiley=argue.gif]
Things sure have been better now that I have my patches and chocolate! ;D
Oops. Don't tell anyone about the chocolate, m'kay?
-
Your secret is certainly safe with me, the others? [smiley=lipsrsealed.gif] Well, I'm not so sure about them... ::)
-
I don't know how y'all keep from turnin' into droolin', axe murderin' basket cases! :-?
Were we not supposed to do that?

Did I hear something about a chocolate patch?? Is that like a nicotine patch? Does it come in dark chocolate?? ::)
-
OK, Now that I know chocolate comes with the patches, it's time for me to get off my butt and send you some money, Melena.
Hope your computer gets well soon (https://bmwr65.org/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.smileyhut.com%2Fworking%2Flamo.gif+&hash=4a8ae881b2cbbeefc157730865724e0e4c9799d0) and work does, too. Nothing like a little free time to clear your mind and spirit!
-
I have lost your snail mail address, Melena. Could you PM it to me?
Thanks,
Rob

Er.. I mean.. in TRUE Airhead fashion you can MAKE your own chocolate patch... ;D
Oh how I crack myself up!
Well, okay, *I* thought it was funny!
-
I can see the "humour"...
"anyone heard from Rob lately? He said he was going for a ride and would be back later..."
-
Just great. I decided to take the car to work today, instead of riding, because of a puny inch or so of snow at my house, and Joan just has to post that picture so I can feel like a real weinee. Thanks Joan.
-
Look for the small cow, napping along 'side the road with it's legs sticking in the air. Underneath it, shall Rob be found... ;D

Oh oh oh... oh... [smiley=ROTFLMAO.gif]
Please forgive me, Rob... oh ouch... oh...oh my, no more laffing!
Actually, Rob is WAY tougher than me. He rolled his little cow back upright and rode the rest of the way to the rally, hung out for a few days until that watermelon sized technicolor bruise got really good and sore, THEN saddled up and rode all the way home.
That takes Mass Cojones, man. More than I've got! ;D

Yeah, he seemed pretty miserable - to the point where I "almost" felt sorry for him! :o I sure wouldn't have wanted to climb back on and ride home after that...
-
Yeah, "thank God"... for all those classes in Sunday School at the Christian Science (not Scientology!) Church growing up... ;D
Well, the ibuprofin didn't hurt any, either... ::)
Oh, and Stephen helped (well, I helped Stephen) pick up the bike...
(Stephen is known on this forum as "Lurker no R65").

Looks like you like a dose of frosting with your Chocolate!! :)
An inch of snow would scare the S*&T outta me.
I was extremely glad last September on the top of Monarch Pass CO 11,312' elevation that the 8 inches of snow was on the side of the road and in the trees and NOT on the road.

Still can't put more than one pic on a page...I guess I have failed another Manlyness Test. GACK
-
I will say this ONE MORE TIME. Since all attachments are on "my dime" I am only allowing one attachment per post. If you want to post a photo-epic, then do as Dirk does and link to them from somewhere... Not trying to be an ogre, but I don't want the kid evicting us because we used up all of his disk space... Remember, he's an Oilhead...
-
Ooooh, sorry about that, Justin. I must have missed that posting when it was mentioned earlier. :-/ I'm probably as guilty as anyone of posting pics willy-nilly. I didn't realize it was chewing up someone else's space (in this case, your Oilhead son). I, for one, will be more mindful of my penchant for posting pics! (Promise!)
-
+1
Aye aye, sir!
Say, Pbase.com has a few free megs as well. AMHIK! : 8-)
-
Sorry I keep forgetting I've got space elsewhere...the whole linking thing well it soooo techical! I will endevor to learn this techique! :o
-
It's not too bad with the little helps above the posting screen. Just go to where ever your picture is located, right click on the picture and pick "Copy Image Location". Come back here, click the 3rd icon for "Insert Image" and then hit paste. You're done! I can never remember the symbols, etc. so I use the helps all the time! ::)
-
You nailed it, Aïda...
-
Of course, that don't work for Macs... :-/
