Title: For my motorcycle log book this year
Post by: Rob Valdez 79 R65 on December 28, 2006, 02:58:46 AM
I am going to use a monthly calendar book - sometimes known as a (nowadays) 2-Year Planner.

I bought 2 of them this year, one for my regular stuff, and one for the bike.

Next Monday I will write down the mileage.

This last year was the first time I got serious about keeping a log, and it is just a notebook from hell.  Such disorganization as you have ever seen.  tsk tsk... :-[

Do you just mean a log of your travels, or like a repair records book?  I keep repair records (including mileage and date) for all 4 of my vehicles.  That's also where I record the hash marks signifying each hundred mile day for the Triumph and more recently (since last summer) for the R65, until I get the speedometers fixed.

If not for the books I wouldn't know when it was time to change the oil and do any of the other periodic maintainance.

For about three years, I've been using a product called "Bike Log" by Baroody's (available for about $9.00 at www.bikelog.com) and it is a pretty nice setup!  It's small enough to easily fit in the little box under the seat, and has sections for mileage, repairs, oil changes, mods, etc., along with pages for notes and some useful charts and tables. Pretty handy!  ;)
