Bless you, kind sir. You'll notice by my presence here that I'm in no apparent rush to get there.
Hmmmm, may make a stop by out local Harbor Freight too: great place!

BTW: Santa will be sending you a lil' something soon, so keep your eyes open.
No Fedex this time, I promise!! ;)

Well, I survived my Journey to Hell, aka, The Mall, and had some good luck shopping: I'd rather take a beating than shop!
I even got in a little ride this afternoon since it was sunny and in the 50s. Blasted up to Pilot Mountain, near Mount Airy, about 30 miles each way. These are the towns "Mt. Pilot" and "Mayberry" from the old Andy Griffith show.
Nice little ride!

Whew.  You made it through the madness.  You probably needed that ride a whole lot after getting out of there.  Sounds like a very nice ride indeed.

My brother and I took our Mom shopping yesterday.  Not to the big mall though.   :o  We actually survived it too.  I would love to go to Harbor Freight, but it's in an area I really don't want to go to this time of year.   :(  I'll probably  have to get there at some point though.

I loved Barney Fife and watched all the Andy Griffith shows many times. I am a big fan of the late Don Knotts. When I was a kid, Don was on TV playing a Christmas elf. That was sometime around '52-54. That's 1952-54! I never got around to writing him and thanking him for the pleasure he brought me through his Barney Fife character....should never put things off. :(

The Canadian "Harbor Freight" is our Canadian Tire Store! I love going there.

Oh, come now Sue! 1952??
Granted it's a small pic, but you can't be past 35!! ;)

Thank you for your silence Rob :P ;)  I know Aïda won't say a thing. Let's see... who else have I met in person? I think that covers it! ;D

I'm looking for an excuse to go meet Sue and the rest of YOU!  Perhaps we should make it a goal of this flegling group to meet somewheres.  So far I have only met Melena and that after only a 2900 mile journey!

I think that's a great idea.   :)  Time to start planning an R65 gathering???  Somewhere in the center of the universe...  ;D

I've only met Sue, but I know there are a handfull of folks close enough to my neck of the woods to meet.  Then again, why not provide a reason for some extra riding next season.

Sue, I guess some of these guys weren't on the original phorum.   ;)   Steve must be a newbie.   I've met Arla, and Arla has met Sue, and I've talked with Sue on the phone once, so I think I can be included in that rarified group, eh Sue?   8-)

I'd love to meet more people from this group.  I'm trying to think of who else is on the west coast here.  Hmmmm.  There are a few in Oregon.  And some here in California.  We'll have to have a west coast meeting and an east coast meeting.  There are the rallys.  I'm sure we can get more R65 riders to the 49er Rally and I hope to make it to the Chief Joseph Rally in Oregon some time.  But I can't imagine having the time to get anywhere too far east of the Sierra Nevada myself, at least not for the next few years anyway.   :(

I, too, want to make it to Chief Joseph.  Heck it's only maybe 3 hours away from me!  I never go anywhere.

I'd also like to meet more of you - it seems the past couple tries to meet with Sue and Dan from VT met with failures to connect.
I'm thinking of going to the MOA in Wisconsin next year, but I don't think I could stay scrunched up on my R65LS that long... so it
may have to be aboard the Kawi.   On the other hand, I've noticed a pretty clean, low mileage 81 R100RT and 81 R100RS for sale in my area,
but the wife will definitely flip if I have (3) bikes in the garage. Hmmm.  Maybe its time to finish cleaning out the barn and turning
it into my own Vroom closet. (thanks, Sue !)

Or, you could put the wife and her car in the barn, and have space for 3 more bikes in the garage!  :o

(...just kiddin', just kiddin'....... ;))

All of our cars sit outside and we have 4 bikes in the garage!  ;D

As far as a get-together, this might be a good excuse for everybody that is so inclined to try and make the "unofficial" boxerworks rally in Big Cedar, OK, next spring.  It's in the middle of May, about in the center of the continent, and in the middle of some of the best "twisties" in the country.

Yep, we have 4 motorcycles in the garages and our cars sit outside.  :)  You guys just need to get your wives riding, too!

As far as the "unofficial" boxerworks rally in Big Cedar, OK, next spring, I think that's the ticket!!  Keep us informed on dates, location as it gets closer, Justin.  Probably at least a couple od days ride for me, so a little planning is involved.

I know how you feel, Ed.  I feel guilty whenever I leave my cat for more that overnight.  :-/

Ken's in Oklahoma was fun last spring.  I tried my darndest to get to the fall rally, but "my spirit was taking a midnight creep", as it were.
I think that job was affecting me in more ways than I thought.

I RODE TO WORK TONIGHT!!!
It was 52 F and sunny when I got up at 1:30 this afternoon.  As soon as the weather came up on the computer I knew - I was going riding!  (It is 43 and clear, no wind as I write this at 3 AM...) Even though my commute has been shortened by half (15 minutes), I didn't mind getting dressed for such a short ride!  While working at the state, I probably only rode maybe 10 times this year.  I also had to park two blocks from where the computer room was.  Now my heart is free as I learn this delightfully quaint computer system, in a nice old building...it is what I have been searching for since my first "real" job at the home office of Danners, Inc., a family owned business of about 100 5&10¢ & department stores throughout Indiana, and it was just so cool!.  But the old man eventually died, and the kids ruined it.  I lasted 8 years, 1978-1986.

I feel like I am back there, again, and I am young, and I can ride all year!

I predict the mother co. will outsource it within 2 years.  :o

I recommend you spend some time on the forum and get a feel of the place.

The very first page has a list of characters and a map of where they are coming from.

I am not on the list/map, because I have a bad habit of not showing, and it is embarrassing for me.  :-[

I am already making arrangements with my new employer for the long (Thurs-Tues) weekend off.
I asked sloth if I could crash at his place (south of Tulsa) on the way down.  He thought that sounded fine!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.  :)
