The other day, I was riding by the BMW assembly plant in Greer, which is near the office where my wife works. I decided to pull over and get a pic of Britta and the BMW sign that you can see from I-85 as you pass the plant. As you can see, this BMW roundel is hard to miss! ;)

Cool!

Yes, I pass by this every time I head home (Atlanta) for the holidays. Have you toured the museum there? It's pretty cool as well.

I assume they have some motorcycles in the museum?

Yeah, the BMW club I belong to held its Christmas party at the Zentrum (which is the visitor's center at the plant) the past two years, and it is really a cool place! And yes, Rob, they have quite a few Beemers on display throughout the building! I toured the plant in 1996 when they had just begun assembling the Z3 roadster there. Since then, the plant has grown to almost twice its original size (and it was pretty damn big in 1996, too), and now employs around 8,000 people. If you are ever in upstate SC, you should at least stop and visit the Zentrum, if you can't do a tour of the plant. (They have a neat gift shop and a cafe in the Zentrum, too!) [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
