Title: Instrument Covers
Post by: Adrian on August 06, 2020, 10:01:33 PM
Hi there Brains Trust - this is a second hand unit I just received from Germany. In the original picture on the seller's site it was perfectly round. I have emailed him.
.
My question is - is there a process that I can do in the shed that would more or less return the openings to being round again.
.
Thanks for any advice
.
Adrian

How'd ya fix it? Just in case we ever experience the same condition

Hi Wilcom
.
I just pushed and tweaked until it all more or less went back into shape.
.
On the Airhead Facebook site one guy said that there is a metal strip running through it and bending it back to shape should be easy. He was right.
.
It's mostly round on both sides now and the center area has lost it's kink too.
.
So all i need now is the speedo and tacho back from Queensland where they are being restored.
.
I did have the Acewell unit up and running when I test ran the bike a few times but I found it too small to read properly. So I'm going back to the originals.
.
 8-) ;) [smiley=Norton.gif]

Thanks Adrian, that makes sense, probably got crushed and misshapen in transit
