Title: 82 R65 changing out controls
Post by: LeeSlikkers on February 06, 2020, 03:30:01 PM
Greetings, looking to change out my bars and controls.  Disassembling then last night I noticed there are brake & clutch electronics up there.  I'd like to replace with typical controls how would I go about working around, or eliminating these electrical items?

Fairly new to motorcycles and not very handy with electrical issues.

Well, you can't.
The right hand side "electrical control" is the brake switch to light the rear brake light when you apply front brake...
The left switch is a security device to allow you to start with a gear engaged.
So the first one is mandatory and the second one needs a lot of thinking to remove it.
Have a nice day.
