I am in the process of cleaning the front master cylinder on my 1982 R65. I got the Reservoir off but the master cylinder is difficult to get off the throttle housing. I hate to use force, any suggestions? Also, I would like to replace the brake line. What size (10 mm, length ? ) Before I pull the old line out I would like to order the new line. Thanks for any advice.

I believe I got my stainless steel brake line from either Spiegler or motobins. You can measure the line with a string to get an approximation of how long it is.

Hello !
The master cylinder is held on the handlebar housing by a tiny hex screw. Do not overlook it as I did ... It is concealed by the brake switch and cable....

If you remove all the fasteners and the master cylinder still does not come out, corrosion is common in this area .
All of the master cylinders I have removed for R65's, I had to resort to pieces of hardwood and a hammer !!
