Title: Starter Trouble
Post by: vtmando on June 09, 2019, 04:58:18 PM: 82 R65...just put battery in after storage in warm dry basement. Will not engage starter...lights work but all I get is a "click" and starter doesn't turn or engage. Is this a battery problem or starter? Help!!

Post by: skippyc on June 09, 2019, 05:35:02 PM: If the lights go out when you hit the starter then it a power problem, if not it's a starter problem.
That said it can be a poor connection faulty relay. A multimeter is a good way of checking voltages in the system when the starter is pushed.

Do you have a multimeter to check the voltage of the battery ?
Was the battery sitting fpr a long time without being on a charger of some sort ?
