After 36 years on the road, the old LS will shortly need new push rod seals. As I do not have the facilities, time or know how to do the job myself I am wondering if anyone has an idea what the cost might be from an independent "expert" mechanic.
I sort of know the answer is somewhat indeterminate, given our disparate geographic locations, but a ballpark figure or even an hour rate based on the "Book" would do.
Thanks in advance

I would say about 3-4 hours labor and $100 in parts .
If the exhaust nuts have never been removed and had anti-seize compound applied, things may not go smooth .
Hopefully the mechanic will cut the exhaust nuts off and replace them .

Check with Max BMW, they seem to like Airheads and they have a youtube video they put together when they built an R90S from the parts system.

I've done it .. twice. Make sure you get the correct seals for your engine model. It would have been quicker for me if I had a ring compressor. It was a relatively easy job, just a fair amount of taking stuff apart. I agree with Bob's labor estimate.

Many thanks for the quick replies. I now have an idea when I get it done.
Regards to all.
