Hi - I have a 600 watt conversion on the charging system. I currently have an 18aH battery fitted. What size (aH) battery is recommended so that I have a good amount of charge on tap. Thanks.. .

I don't think you will get much larger of a capacity battery to fit in the stock tray
What people do is strap on an extra battery after the charging failure occurs
A dash mounted volt meter is a must have if you take trips on your bike
The trick is to know as soon as possible that you are having charging problems so you can act accordingly
like shut off the main beam and park where you can push start and figure out how much power it's going to take to get you home

I have an Ultramax AGM battery that's a perfect fit and claims to be 20Ah on a 20hr discharge at 25 deg C. I think they now do a 22 Ah version but I doubt you would find anything with a bigger capacity than that.
You have to be careful with comparisons. For example mine is only 18.2 Ah on a 10 Hr discharge. 10 Hr discharge used to be the norm when quoting Ah capacity but even Odyssey use 20 Hrs now.

22ah is the largest capacity battery, I've seen as well, for this battery size .
