Title: Motogadget wiring diagram
Post by: jamestnewsonr65 on November 14, 2017, 07:07:48 AM
It's been on mind for a while and I wanted to redo the wiring on an R80 project that I'm currently renovating, and decided to use an m-unit that I had kicking around.

One thing which I found difficult, was to find definitive information on how to wire it up specifically for a BMW and how to get the charging light etc hooked up correctly.

For this project I wanted to keep all the stock controls for the functions of the bike, but redo the wiring so it is simpler and more robust than the original.

As I couldn't find anything around on the web which looked close to a wiring diagram for the stock BMW airheads, I decided to draw one up and share it. Hope fully it will help someone out.

Nice work - what did you use to do the wiring diagram?

It helps that I’m a graphic designer, and used sketch.

You can trials of it for 5 days. Fairly easy to pick up and all vector based.

Hi i installed a M-unit on my R65 1981 two years ago. and keep the controls also..and change the regulator for a RR45. Just remove everything else... head and rear light, put handlebar flashers.. anyway... what do you need exactly ?
