Hi again - below are the pictures of how the clocks should look on my bike - and two pictures showing the Acewell 2853 and it's mounting bracket that I intend to fit instead.
.
My question is - as this is a popular conversion when both original clocks stop working - does anyone have pictures of the conversion on their bike showing how they have made it all fit - baring in mind that the headlight mounting frame has to go and that means hiding the wiring tidily - fitting the indicators (probably aftermarket) - and fitting the ignition switch,
.
I have a good quality set of headlight mounts already - but it would be very helpful if I could see some photos of the work already done - and where I might buy aftermarket bits where necessary.
.
Thanks ...... Adrian

Hi Adrian. When I mounted my Acewell I made my own mounts. I made an "L" bracket from aluminum bar stock to hold the brake line splitter and drilled and tapped a small hole in the top plate of the triple clamp to mount it. Used the stock Acewell mount to attach it to the new "L" bracket. For the ignition switch I made another "L" bracket and attached it to the bolt that the headlight mount had been attached to. Checked the misc parts display at the local auto parts store and found a rubber boot (I have no idea what it was for) that fit the ignition switch body perfectly for waterproofing. On the other headlight mount bolt I mounted a small voltmeter to complete the new dash.

Hi mate - thanks for the photos - clever using he existing mount threads = and I see you have the extra generator light fitted too - I have one ready to fit also -
.
How did you go connecting all the wiring? It seems straight forward enough - with my Haynes wiring diagram I understand what goes where - I think lol lol

This is what I ended up doing....
I made a steel bracket that acted as my Acewell mount, ignition switch mount and gen light and used the existing top tree clamp.
Here is some photos of the process.

Thanks Marcus - that's a really interesting idea. I have some nickel and zinc plates around the shed so they might do. Mounting the front indicators on the headlight brackets is a good idea. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks mate....
