Last weekend my dad totaled his bike. He's ok only a mark on his thumb where the barbed wire fence that he went through hit it. anyway after days of convincing he decided to give the bike to the ins. company. so we're taking off our stuff that we put on there (radio, sergent seats, etc.) and i asked if i could have the horns. after a few moments of debate the stock horns off of a 1150RT were mine. i mounted them today with ease as i saw after i took off the stock horn on the R65 that the threads on the hex bolt that mounts the horns on the RT fit into a threaded hole close to the middle of the front of the frame (confused yet?) i will post pics later as my camera is dead now. the only thing was that i had to put the clutch cable behind this bar that goes across the frame so the one of the horns could be straight. would there be anything that i would have to add to make them work seeing that i dont have any way to test them (read 1st post)? will my original horn relay work?

If you originally had only the little round single horn I don't think you have a relay. The relay was utilized when using twin Fiamms... I don't know if your RT horn draws more current or not. If it doesn't you should be OK, if not then you may tax the switch and need to install a horn relay circuit...

IF you have a horn relay, it should work. If you don't have a relay (as per Justin's post) and these horns draw more than
~ 4 or 5 Amps you really should put a relay in or risk burning out your horn switch contacts. You can get ready to install
