OK I searched first but came up with nothing so here is a new thread. :-/
Does anybody use cruise control/throttle lock on the R65 :question
I'm looking at Throttlemeister, Vista, NEP, and believe it or not a large Silicon O-ring out of a Caterpillar Diesel catalog!!! Where is that picture......
If you have pictures of your install, I'd love to see 'em.
Thanks in advance,

Yikes! I just looked those up and yow are they 'spensive :o.
I have used the throttle screw thingie on extended rides and it does help. Justin had fabbed up a neat replacement for the throttle grip screw that had a spring and flip lever for quick on / off setting. Maybe if we ask he'd fab up a couple more. I'd still like to get one after the Holidays

O-Ring Throttle Lock!!!!

I just ordered two for about 8 bucks! It won't work on the R65 as I have BMW heated grips but it will probable work on the BSA's (which have bar end weights).

Rich, I've been selling the crap out of 'em on e-Bay. If anybody wants one it will be about $33 shipped.
-
Does it work on an '84 r65 and how?

Is there a thread showing this working/in action?
tks

Steve, not much to show, with the lever "down" your throttle returns normally and when the lever is flipped up it presses a delrin rod against the throttle tube to hold it in place.
Trolle, they work on any Airhead or early K-bike except for maybe the Mystic or R100R because I think the throttle is different...
-
If you will tell me how they are installed I want one.

+1 with trolle. :)

It installs in place of the throttle screw. If you don't have a throttle screw installed there will be a plastic plug on the underneath side of the throttle.
-
Justin...is the throttle lock you make switch from "on" to "off" position or all infinite positions in between to make the throttle drag a bit?
-
Sue, for all practical purposes I would consider it's operation on/off although I suppose one could "fiddle" with it and get different degrees of drag...
-
Resurrecting this thread.
Justin, are you still making these 'cruise controls' and if so how much are they now? I'm Interested.
Thanks, Bill

I have one but i just keep it locked all the time
I think they were called "Flip A Lever" Throttle lock

I have nothing to do with this eBay listing, just found it after reading this thread. Seems kind of pricey to me.

Don't know what mine is called. Got it at a moto show. It has a rubber slip on ring about a half inch wide that you slide all the way down on the grip. Then you put a this plastic 'arm' over it and it grips. You merely push it down to your desired throttle opening and it holds it there. Close throttle all the way and it goes back to no effect. It works great and was a 12bucks I think. I will look when iget home to see if it has a name. Will work on any bike.

I think I still have the pieces laying around to make a couple. How many might want one? I'd probably do $45/shipped CONUS.
