86 R65.... braided line and new pads. New fluid & flushed system. The lever travel before brake's apply is far too long. Is it caliper rebuild time? (clean brake piston & replace orings).
thanks

The caliper won't be the cause although it may need an overhaul if the pistons are not moving freely.
How much travel did the brake lever have before the fluid change ? It might still have some air in the system. Tying the lever back overnight often helps.

You may have air in the system still .
Old trick, use heavy rubber bands, tie wraps, to keep the brake lever pulled in, leave it for a few days and see if it helps any .

You may want to check to make sure the MC piston is not sticking and not returning to the full out position
Is the lever soft or does it just have a lot of travel
