I need to track down some new dust seals for my 1982 R65LS's Brembo front calipers and don't want to have to buy the complete rebuild kit from BMW... just want the dust seals.
Does anyone know the Brembo part number for the LS calipers? In googling for about an hour I can't find a definitive answer, nor any site that converts BMW parts numbers into Brembo numbers.
I may just take the seals into an auto parts store, but thought I would ask here. There is some talk on the net that the calipers have a part number stamped on them, but I haven't found that to be the case.
Anyone have any information they can share?

Measure the piston size - they will (IIRC) be 36 or 38 mm, then put the size into a ebay search

OK, it's a Guzzi supplier but Brembos brakes is Brembo brakes.

F08's but as Tony said measure the piston because I think they are 36mm rather than the more common 38mm.

Anyway here is what i did
If you have a 36mm Brembo caliper
Below is it on Moto bins

If I were you I would put the 36 mm on ebay and let some one else repair it
Then spend the money on a 38 mm F08

then you will have better braking
Plus the brand new caliper comes with new pads :D
This is the exact caliper i have put on my R65 in place of the OEM caliper
Then if it needs a rebuild your kit will only cost $16.44

The pistons are in fact 36mm, and the dust seal part number is 20.2246.10.
I have a few emails out to see if I can track down the seals.
Won't be going with the new F08's as other than this one seal, my current calipers are fine.

Not to highjack this thread but does anybody know the correct replacement pads and the vendor for the Brembo front caliper on an '87 R65?
I have already bought, and returned, 3 sets of pads that looked right but were too large in overall dimensions, that the vendors SWORE were the correct ones and would fit. With that in mind, how about the CORRECT rear drum shoes?

Bill what part numbers have you received that didn't work?
It's interesting that the RealOEM gives a part number for your 87 that when plugged into Teds Beemer shop site says it's for only up to 85.....hmmmm

The BMW Classic Shop gives this P/N 34 21 7 657 025 for 1986 R65 bike.
For my 1982 R65 with Brembo caliper they gave 34 11 2 301 360 part number and 34 11 2 301 359 for ATE calipers...
I do not know if the Brembo caliper are identical before and after 1984, but I know for sure that the material the disc are made of are different (and the look too); So maybe the different part number has something to do with the matching of material and friction pad...

I just went through this process a few months ago. What I did was measure my correct pads down to the millimeter. Then I went to the EBC site and paged through their catalog until I found the pads with the correct pin holes and dimensions. I posted about it here, let me see if I can find the link...

Thanks for the info, I will look at those sites and see what I can come up with.
I was using P/N 34 21 7 657 025 as my reference # and that's what I got from the suppliers, but they were all too large.
I will measure mine and try to match those dimensions.
