Title: Valve covers
Post by: Einar on July 28, 2016, 05:04:27 AM
Thinking of changing the valve covers on my R65 1981.

Are all flat-twin valve covers between 71-95 interchangable?
I'm thinking of buying the following once (see picture) online. The add says it will fit an R65 however I thought I'd run it by the experts before I order them.

Your input as always highly appreciated.

They'll fit.  There should be a picture on the forum somewhere of a very nice R65 with wire wheels and peanut valve covers.

Great, thank you for your reply! That settles it! I'm getting them!

Yes wire wheels look great, not too fan of the snowflake style though they are easier to maintain.

Will check out the picture on the forum.

One of the first changes I made to my R65 when I got it and I love the way they look. I had mine powder coated satin black and then polished the two center ribs.

you may want to get some Silicone valve cover gaskets while your in there.
Just make sure every thing is clean and dry when you put the covers on  :D
