Title: Timing Light
Post by: JBwell on June 17, 2016, 01:22:41 PM
I want to get a timing light that will work on the 80 r65 as well as some old Hondas that I have.  At least one of the Hondas is CDI.  Can anyone direct me to a good device, not top of the line but not cheapo either.  I would like to get one that shows RPMs also as some other models dont have a tach.  Thanks and have a great weekend!!   JON

I picked up an Accuspark SP8000 here and it seems to do what it's meant too for not loads of money. (£50 UK). I have a brat style bike without tacho so the digital rev counter is very helpful!

I use these things to monitor RPMs when working on our generators and the trail bikes - also useful for their original purpose of tracking engine hours.

That solves the RPM issue - then buy the cheapest/brightest self powered timing light you can find.

Hello !
As my old analog light with an advance setting was dead (40 years old), I bought a Chinese one here http://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-timing-light.html?spm=2114.01010208.0.59.UlhYa6&site=glo&SearchText=timing+light&g=y&SortType=price_asc&groupsort=1&initiative_id=QRW_20160618013013&shipCountry=fr

I have a red one with RPM and advance setting and it is fine and cheap. (per the price, if it dies, I would/could buy a replacement ...)
