Title: Replacement seat for my R65???
Post by: 10drum on February 24, 2016, 10:31:18 AM
Greetings,
I'd like to replace the seat on my 82 R65.
I like this one:
http://corbin.com/bmw/bmw6g.shtml
But Corbin says it won't fit.
I've seen some on ebay for around $220, but they look sort of cheap and they want a fortune to ship from Viet Nam.
Thanks for all replies, Phil

You're going to have a difficult time locating an aftermarket custom seat to fit your R65. The R45/65 series Airheads were not produced in great numbers over many years as were the Type 247 Airheads that were blessed with aftermarket options.

You did not mention what style seat you're searching for -cafe, comfy tush, ect- but a quality upholstery shop could fabricated something you might design by using your OEM seat pan, new foam and cover to your specs.

Search for a shop in your area that  does  motorcycle seats .

Contact a motorcycle shop and see if they recommend anyone locally .
