If anyone has been wanting to add fuses to the Positive side feeding everything.
The main positive splice is about in the center of the gas tank.
I have been wanting to do this and finally got around to it.
If you look at the print there is only overload protection for the horn turn signals brake lights and running lights :o
So I added 3 more fuses right after the splice.
One for the ignition one for the starter and one for the headlights
The other 2 splices just dead end so I left them in the ignition circuit
I used this and made a new bracket for it and mounted in the same place as the OEM one

I feel a lot better now :)

Cool. Can you share a picture of it?

I got one of those fuse blocks for my Guzzi, it's got the same ( lousy !!!!! ) fuses as the R65's .
I'm waiting for the hot weather to end here, before I go back out into the garage and tackle this upgrade .
Still getting to 104 F in the afternoon here and with the lower sun angle, the garage heats up quickly this time of year .

Sorry I don't have any pictures of it.
Another problem with the factory fuses is that they are completely in the wrong place in the wiring.
The should be as close to the power source (battery) as possible.

Here is a pictures of the fuse holder in place.
I made a bracket for it and it mounts with the clamp like the OEM
I also have changed the wiring to use more relays and incorporate the heated grip harness into the main loom
It was all reraped with the cloth tape that BMW used for the small sections and I used some wide TESA cloth tape on the large main section.
Don't use the standard black electrical tape to wrap the harness with.
It will get all sticky
I also got rid of the BMW specific relay and rearranged the pins into the ISO foot print with a double 87 tab
You could easily get rid of the BMW stater relay and replace it with a standard relay by adding a diode and rearranging the pins in the plug
I also have the wiring for the LED flood lights 75% finished and installed back to the accessory socket .
Just waiting for the blue plug and the diode to come from MAX
When I get the LED's mounted up I will post a picture and a review
That will be after Christmas
